Promoting new skills in the construction sector
About DRONES4VET
Drones4VET addresses an identified gap in the training offered within the construction-related activities.
To date, the education and training offer has solely focused on the mastering of the traditional techniques, mainly based in the manual and on-site surveillance, inspection and assessment of civil works, buildings and constructions sites.
This approach to training has not in essence changed in the past decades. The advent of the new technologies, both from the point of view of the software/applications and the hardware/devices, has fundamentally altered the dynamics of the sector.
As the regulation has been recently published, there is no bespoke and updated training deliver across EU or project in Vocational Training of similar characteristics within the Erasmus programm.
It is funded by the Erasmus+ European Union Programme under the reference № 2021-1-ES01-KA220-VET-000033094.
Main Objectives
- Connect students with today’s tools, opportunities and challenges of the construction sector
- Design and test an interdisciplinary training programme focusing on the use of drones within the construction-related activities.
- Create and set the basis for a sustainable VET training programme ready to be transferred and mainstreamed in training institutions in Europe.
- Increasing VET students’ skills with regard to the different possibilities offered by the use of drones in the framework of the mentioned sector.
- Enhancing quality and relevance of the VET learning offer.
- Increasing employability and career development of VET students in general and of VET construction students in particular.
- Increasing knowledge of the situation, prospect and trends of the construction sector at both national and EU level and exchange of expertise, skills and experience among the partners’ consortium.
The main expected results are a training toolkit for both the students and the facilitators, available under OER standards and replicable in any European institution offering training in construction-related activities
